Miss North Carolina- Night 2 Press Release

RALEIGH 6/23/2016 – Raleigh’s Memorial Auditorium was filled with excitement as preliminaries continued for the Miss NC and MNCOTeen 2016 pageants. Miss Stanly County, Jenna Huff and Miss Spivey’s Corner, Jocelyn Naylor were awarded the Lifestyle and Fitness award, while Miss Belmont, DeAndra Easter garnered the evening’s Talent award. 

Miss Johnston County’s Outstanding Teen, Leah April, was awarded the MNCOTeen Evening Gown and On-Stage Question Award. Miss Clayton’s Outstanding Teen, Catherine White, took home the Talent Award for the MNCOTeen division.

Jocelyn Naylor, Miss Spivey’s Corner, was awarded the Smithfield Agricultural Scholarship.

Kali Whitaker, Miss Central Carolina, was awarded the Ward Black Justice or Entrepreneurial Scholarship.

Cora Godwin, co-executive director of the Miss Johnston County organization, was named the local volunteer of the year for 2016.

Mark Steward was also honored with an Outstanding Service award for his involvement with the State organization.
