Miss NC 2017 Thursday Night Preliminary Winners

RALEIGH 6/22/2017 – Raleigh’s Memorial Auditorium was filled with excitement as preliminaries continued for the Miss NC and MNCOTeen 2017 pageants. Miss Mecklenburg County, Madison Bryant was awarded the Lifestyle and Fitness award, while Miss Mount Holly, Allison Farris garnered the evening’s Talent award.

Miss Rowan County Outstanding Teen, Taylor Loyd, was awarded the MNCOTeen Evening Gown and On-Stage Question Award. Miss Queen City Outstanding Teen, Marissa Garrison, took home the Talent Award for the MNCOTeen division.

The following recipients were awarded the North Carolina Electric Cooperative were Miss Shelby, Andrea Jhant; Miss Raleigh, Abby Britt, Miss Winston Salem, Grace Ann Carroll; Miss Belmont, Melanie Robinson; Miss Kinston Lenoir County, Caroline Haller.

Grace Ann Carroll, Miss Winston Salem, was awarded the Smithfield Agricultural Scholarship.

The Victoria Baskett Healthcare Impact Recipient was awarded to Grace Ann Carroll, Miss Winston Salem.

Mrs. Judy Tucker from the Miss Stanly County Organization was honored with the Local Director of the Year Award.

The 2017 Sponsor of the Year award was given to Dunn-Benson Ford.

The winners of the Carolina Princess Essay were, in third place winners Addie Albright, Miss Rose Hills Outstanding Teen’s Carolina Princess and Chloe Joyner, Miss Henderson’s Carolina Princess. Second place winner Abbie Smith, Miss Rose Hill’s Outstanding Teen’s Carolina Princess and Neorah Wells, Miss Cabarrus County’s Outstanding Teen’s Carolina Princess. First places winners were Grace Barbour, Miss Clayton’s Carolina Princess and Leigh Ariel Staten, Miss Queen City’s Carolina Princess.

Preliminary competitions for Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen will continue June 23 at Raleigh’s Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. The Outstanding Teen competition will conclude with crowning on June 24 at 2pm. Miss North Carolina 2017 will be crowned at 7pm live on ABC11 and ABC11.com. Tickets for the event will be available in the Spring.
